On Monday 19 October, local clubs, groups and volunteer-run facilities met at Lakenheath Pavilion for the Lakenheath Pride in Place Community Assets and Groups get-together. There was a good turnout from across the community.

Rich Keeble, chair of the Community Assets and Groups implementation group, welcomed everyone and explained the purpose of the meeting. Mike Malina, chair of the Lakenheath Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board, then gave an overview of the programme: the work done so far, how the programme is run, and the opportunities ahead for Lakenheath, Sedge Fen, Undley and the Lord’s Walk area as part of the £20 million, ten-year investment.

A representative from Community Action Suffolk also spoke about the support and training available to volunteers.

Guests then split into smaller workshops to build a clearer picture of the community assets we already have and to share their hopes for the future. Each group fed back its ideas, and the evening finished with a chance to network, meet other groups and chat with board members.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and gave their time and ideas. What we heard will help shape how the funding is spent, with a focus on projects that will benefit the village well into the future.

Missed the meeting? You can still get involved. Email info@lpip.uk to tell us about your group, or fill in the resident survey before it closes on 15 November 2026.
